The dot SE ccTLD was launched in 1986 and assigned to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration process was quite restrictive, so a very small number of domain names were secured. Persons were allowed to register no more than one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was compulsory, i.e. merely Swedish persons, companies and organizations were able to obtain a .SE domain.
