A catch-all functionality that is activated for a specific mailbox will permit you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise said, if you remove an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain name, you will get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature implies that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial if you are running a business, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited bulk emails, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filtering software in order to get only authentic email messages in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
You will be able to create a catch-all e-mailbox with ease if you’ve got a hosting account with us. The Email Manager in our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel is fully featured, yet extremely easy to work with, and it will allow you to enable various features, including the catch-all one, with just a few clicks of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed alphabetically in this section and next to each one you’ll see a small-size "Catch-all" icon. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking it twice will deactivate it. Since you can have just one such mailbox per domain, our system will alert you if you’ve already got a different one with this feature enabled or if you’ve got active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a couple of clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered via our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses with any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all option for a particular mailbox, you will need to click on the logo with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Deactivating the feature can be achieved in the very same manner and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been activated for a particular domain, you’ll receive a warning alert. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or replace any feature automatically.
